UNDERSTANDING THE 4 CS
A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO DIAMONDS
AUTHOR: admin
CONFUSING CARAT WITH KARAT? UNSURE ABOUT CLARITY? WE BREAK DOWN EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR FOREVER PURCHASE.
The global standard for assessing the quality of a diamond is determined by Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight. While many consumers focus immediately on carat (size), the cut is actually the most critical factor for brilliance. A well-cut smaller diamond will outshine a poorly cut larger one every time, capturing the light and reflecting it back to the eye.

BEYOND THE SPARKLE
Finding the perfect diamond is about balancing these four characteristics to find the best value for your budget. You don't always need a "Flawless" grade stone to have a stunning ring; often, diamonds with slight inclusions are invisible to the naked eye but cost significantly less. Prioritize what matters most to you whether it's size, whiteness, or sparkle.
-
Cut: The most important factor; it determines how the diamond reflects light (sparkle).
-
Color: Graded from D (colorless) to Z; the less color, the higher the grade.
-
Clarity: Measures the amount of internal inclusions or external blemishes.
-
Carat: Refers to the diamond's physical weight, not its dimensions.
